do you ever have one of those days where it feels like the world is out to get you and nothing is going your way no matter how hard you try?

I had a magazine project due yesterday. When my file was printed a small part of it did not translate over to Kinkos and came back as dots.
I turned it in and asked my teacher if i could reprint it. He said yes and it would be without penalty.
So I fixed what was wrong and sent to Kinkos last night.
Picked it up this morning and saw it was missing two pages. Oh wait, no some dumbass decided to print it double sided even though i did not specify it.
So I asked them to reprint.
Some bitchy woman who worked there said that I had to sign a copyright release form. Why? Because an old absolut ad was used (which our teacher said was ok, he said to just find ads on the comp and use them). I've printed it no less than six times without problems. The man who had helped me when I got there said that she didn't need to do that because it was a school project and not for commercial use and that he'd talk to her after just because he didn't want to have the fight with her in front of me.
So I got home ready to cut it and put it together.
They reprinted my old messed up file.

So I'm back to square one. Gave up. Emailed my teacher, explained the situation and said I'd just keep what I had given him yesterday as my final project.

I have since torn up all the copies of it that I couldn't use. Held back tears and still am.

The day just has to get better doesn't it?



I can only go up from here. I hope.



Moral of the story:  I'm DONE with Kinkos. I'm ready for my printer for christmas.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Had a wonderful weekend at home :)

Worked on projects during my free time.

Current projects include: Inside layout of a magazine, 52 card deck, and a self promo card.

My promo card got the most work this weekend. It's a modern play on breakfast on tiffany's with a man instead of a woman. :)

Skin&Ink

Image done for Typography class.  Assignment was to create experimental typography to be put on a magazine cover. I chose the word Filigree and went with it :)

By about 5 today it just still wasn't looking right and going well with the magazine Skin&Ink (which is an actual magazine) and so I took some photos of myself (using my handy remote) and after about 100 ended up with this image. Played with it in photoshop and then superimposed my artwork for the project onto my arm and manipulated it to look like a tattoo on my arm. :)

not gonna lie, I'm pretty damn proud.

It's been quite a while but I have a bunch of stuff to load up onto my deviantart. 

However, I will most likely watermark everything from now on because I don't want art theft. It's unfortunately becoming more and more common..... :(  Thank goodness not to me yet because my stuff isn't fantastic, but there have been more reports of art theft....

First illustration project is finé

I'm sitting in Starbucks waiting for the clock to hit 2:30 so I can head to my 3 hour Intaglio class.   I really wish I'd gone home to nap or something.... but then again I can't guarantee I'd have woken up.  

I finished my first illustration project :)   Eventually I'll upload the process book so I can show how I went about it.

Since when does me not wearing letters or anything signifying i'm in a sorority mean that I'm NOT in one?   In the past five minutes I've already had Gamma Eta try to recruit me and another girl definitely try to strike up convo.  I'm a Pi Chi. You all have seen me around campus promoting greek life. Affiliated sisters aren't supposed to be talking to me.


Looks like I'll need to get my recruitment shirt and button out.

Or wear a neon sign.

Tropical Storm Fay

So I am sitting here at my computer. Knowing that in the morning there is a big chance that I will not be leaving the apartment.

Tropical storm or hurricane or whatever Fay is on her way.... leaving the east coast into the atlantic and ricocheting right into my city. woo hoo.

So I took two pics in about a half hour's time as the clouds began to roll in, no rain though yet.

Cell phone pics unfortunately, forgot my camera when I left to get gas and non perishable food JIC.

Summer B

I have finished Summer A, got an 80 in my digital photo class and a 94 in my first art history class!

I'm now taking my second art history class and have WAY more time on my hands now that it's only monday and wednesday...

Summer is here. I know because it storms EVERY afternoon. Never fails. There is a huge storm rolling in right now. And coming quickly too! It's getting darker by the minute!

And the cable is breaking up a little..... great....


I caught lightning on film the other day though which was awesome!
Uh oh, thunder.


AAAANNNNDDD we're under a severe thunderstorm warning.

Though no storm has beat the first one of the summer..... we had hail the size of golfballs!
And the wind is picking up!

Good thing I'm not out right now!

Not Looking Forward...

I'm not looking forward to getting up in the morning. Ugh. This is the last week of Summer A, my second to last art history 1 class, my last week of digital photography. I am SO tired (literally) of getting up at 7:30 am!

This entire weekend I slept until almost 2 every day! Which in turn screwed up my sleep schedule because I haven't gone to bed until like 3 am.

But this is the last week until fall classes that I'll have to wake up that early thank god. Next week though begins Summer B which means art history 2 on mon and wed.... but not til noon! :dance:

Which means I can get up at 9, eat breakfast, go to the gym, go to class, and work on projects FOR MYSELF! More downtown photography and more fun photos...

I have some stock photos I may upload for anyone to use.... nothing interesting, just a bunch of coffee beans. I love coffee... but if i have to look at another coffee bean again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Tony Awards were tonight and though I had PLANNED to study a bit, that was spent instead texting back and forth with mom and chatting about the different acts.... which in my honest opinion was more fun. :)

The shows that were up for Best New Musical though were not all that captivating. Though Whoopi Goldberg was hilarious. I about freaked when they showed Phantom.... and then Whoopi turned around as Christine and I about fell out of my seat laughing! :D Needless to say, even though I didn't enjoy the new musicals, Whoopi and the Best new revivals made up for it. As well as RENT performing Seasons of Love.

Oh, I have a Stickam account as well........ I think it's weird but whatev :) I watch the ghosthunterz live feed....... first ghost cam I do like watching just because it is a continuous live feed.
